LADY Gaga has blamed her weight gain on her father opening a restaurant.
The Born This Way singer has admitted gaining almost two stone since Joe Germanotta’s Italian eatery opened in New York because she tucked into pizza and pasta. She said: “I love eating pasta and I’m a New York Italian girl. That’s why I have been staying out of New York.
“My father opened a restaurant. It’s so amazing it’s so freaking delicious, but I’m telling you I gain five pounds every time I go there.
“So my dad wants me to eat at the restaurant, and I’m like, ‘I’ve got to go where I can drink green juice.’”
The 26-year-old singer, who was bulging out of her skimpy costumes at recent gigs, says she is fine about her curves but admitted she is taking steps to fight the flab.
She told a US radio show: “I’m dieting now but my God, I think I gained, like, 25 pounds (1.78 stone) over Christmas.”
She added: “I really don’t feel bad about it, not even for a second.
“It’s hard because I have a vigorous show, so I tend to bulk up, get muscular, and I really don’t like that. So I’m trying to find a new balance.”
Kelly Osbourne has also sparked speculation that Gaga might be masking a baby secret.
She told Alan Carr: “I think she is pregnant because she has been covering up this part of her body recently and I have been noticing that a lot, and her style has changed and you can’t bleach your hair blonde when you are pregnant.”
Since the interview was recorded, however, the controversial star seemed to scotch the rumour by smoking a joint on stage.
Meanwhile, a new rap song released online is causing a frenzy of speculation among Gaga fans.
DJ White Shadow, who has worked with the singer as a producer, asked fans to submit a rap which mentioned Gaga as often as possible.
He then announced that he had found "the one" but refused to reveal the identity of the winner.
The resulting collaboration, a foul-mouthed Trap-Rap featured a slowed down vocal which, when played at the correct speed, sounding suspiciously like the Lady herself.
As well as the peppering of swearwords throughout the track, the mystery rapper courted further controversy with a reference to "burqa swag".
Surely a Gaga move.
