Engaged ... Kelly Clarkson and Brandon Blackstock
IT's no more Miss Independent for American singer Kelly Clarkson.
The former American Idol winner surprised her Twitter followers on Saturday when she announced her engagement to talent manager boyfriend Brandon Blackstock.The 30-year-old Since U Been Gone singer said: "I'm engaged. I wanted y'all to know. I am so lucky and am with the greatest man ever."
Kelly and Brandon, the stepson of country singer Reba McEntire, live together in a house they bought in Nashville.
And there's been no let-up career-wise for Kelly since winning the first ever American Idol, a decade ago.
Since her 2002 win, Kelly has released four full-length albums, including a 'Greatest Hits - Chapter One' LP that came out in November 2012.
There's no date set yet for the wedding but Kelly has already posted a photo of her engagement ring on Twitter.
The chart-topper said: "It's a yellow canary diamond with diamonds around it.
"Brandon designed it with Johnathon Arndt. They did an amazing job! I can't wait to make Brandon's ring with Johnathon as well!"
