The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has expressed utter shock and devastating grief at the news of the death of the Executive Governor of Kaduna State, Mr. Patrick Ibrahim Yakowa and other prominent Nigerians, including the former National Security Adviser, General Owoye Azazi in a helicopter crash today.

Our great Party is shocked beyond imagination and no words can adequately give expression to the depth of our grief. What a colossal loss!

After two years of business partnership, popular jeweller Chris Aire and Port Harcourt singer-producer Duncan Ikechukwu Wene Mighty have parted ways.

According to Aire, the partnership has done exactly what it set out to do and, as a result, he’s now withdrawing to focus on other businesses.

‘This split also gives Duncan Mighty the chance to focus on his home career and continue to develop the young musicians under his tutelage. He is very talented and I wish him all the best’.

According to a release made available to NET by Aire’s camp, Aire and Duncan Mighty signed a business agreement in May 2011, to further the career of the dance-hall act and to form the Niger Delta Music and Art Project (NDMAP).

LADY GAGA had a chat to MICK JAGGER this week – while soaking in her bathtub.

Thankfully for Mick he wasn’t perched on her bidet during the conversation.
He was on the phone, after calling to discuss her collaboration with the ROLLING STONES during their gig in New Jersey this weekend.
A source said: “Gaga didn’t want to miss Mick’s call so she took it in the bath.
“They spoke at length about what’s going to happen.
“She also asked Mick if she could wear any of his old stage gear for their performance.”

Meanwhile, Mick made a rare TV appearance on Tuesday on David Letterman’s US show.
He took part in a skit called Things I, Mick Jagger, Have Learned After 50 Years In Rock ’N’ Roll.
These included “Be considerate of other hotel guests – trash your room by 10pm” and “You don’t earn a cent when someone does a song about having ‘moves like Jagger’.”
Given how much that MAROON 5 track has raked in through airplay, Mick would be well within his rights to claim a few quid.

Cops foil sick plot to strangle and castrate Justin Bieber

A WARPED plot to castrate and kill teenage pop singer Justin Bieber has been foiled by cops.

Two men have been arrested - one having been found with a pair of PRUNING SHEARS in his car.
The men - Mark Staake and his nephew Tanner Ruane - are said to have been hired to carry out the twsited killing by Dana Martin - who is serving 978 years in prison for rape and murder.
The sick attack was due to have taken place in November when Bieber was performing concerts in New York.
After abducting the superstar it is said the pair intended to kill him strangling him with a necktie, after having mutilated him with the shears.
Police claim Staake met Martin in Las Cruces prison in New Mexico.
Martin then recruited him to kill four people - including Bieber.
Martin is understood to be obsessed with the Canadian singer, and has a tattoo of the 18-year-old on his leg.
He allegedly ordered Staake to carry out "the murder and castration of Bieber and his bodyguard".
Police intercepted phone calls between the men, including a call from a disappointed Mr Ruane to Martin, allegedly telling him that the plot had not been carried out.

Chris Okotie to sue INEC over party de-registration, plans to contest in 2015

Rev Chris Okotie's political party, FRESH Democratic Party was one of the 28 parties De-registered by the Independent Electoral Commission (INEC) on Thursday 6th December. The Head Pastor of Household of God said he's planning to sue INEC for their action and also contest in 2015 whether his party is De-registered or not! 

"We are very amused by the shenanigans calculations of INEC. I believe that INEC is fronting for the PDP and that its the 2015 fever that has overtaken that political party in such a way that it is beginning to malfunction and demonstrate a pathological dysfunctionality. It is very obvious to us at Fresh party that their intention is to erase completely, the voice of the opposition. So they have parochialised the definition of an opposition party to align with their egostic agenda such that it would become impossible to speak. How can a political party that is in power define the character and the configuration of its own opposition. We are persuaded that we must take this before the judiciary as the last bastion of our democratic experience, will remedy this situation. (meaning he's going to court)

Helen Ukpabio's mum dies of heartbreak after losing 3 sons same day

Evangelist Helen Ukpabio's mother, Mrs Etim Ukpabio, has passed on months after witnessing the killing of three of her sons...on the same day. She also lost a daughter a few days later who died from shock after learning about what happened to her brothers.

Mrs Ukpabio's three sons, Joseph, Charles and Emmanuel Ukpabio (pictured above) were allegedly killed by men of the State Security Service (SSS) on Sunday March 25th 2012 in front of their aged mother (Read the story HERE), who family members say never recovered from the incident. They say she died a very unhappy woman sometime last month and kept begging people to help her get justice for her children.

Pope Benedict sends first Tweet from iPad

The Pope sent out his first tweet today Wednesday December 12th, a week after joining Twitter 

His main account is @Pontifex which is in English but he has seven other linked Twitter accounts. The other seven have a suffix at the end for the different language versions. The German version is @Pontifex_de, and the Arabic version is @Pontifex_ar.

The tweets will be going out in Spanish, English, Italian, Portuguese, German, Polish, Arabic and French. The pope already has over a million followers...

FERNANDO TORRES is struggling to fill the boots of ‘warrior’ Didier Drogba.

That’s the honest verdict of Torres’ Chelsea and Spain team-mate Juan Mata.

The Blues playmaker said: “Drogba’s departure was like an electric shock for us. He was a 

warrior.

“We’ve had to learn to cope without him because for many long years he was Chelsea’s 

lightning conductor.

“With Drogba we were conditioned to play in a certain way.

“You gave him the ball and you knew that he would at least force the opponent into a foul.

“In a way we had a tendency to rely on him too much but it was a natural mechanism.

All the great players like getting the ball, Didier even more so.

“With Fernando it’s different. His runs aren’t the same. He’s not a funnel for our play like Drogba

The Independent National Electoral Commission yesterday Thursday December 6th announced the De-registration of 28 political parties.

"In the exercise of the powers conferred on it by the 1999 Constitution (as amended) and the Electoral Act 2010 (as amended), the Independent National Electoral Commission has today, Thursday, December 6, 2012, de-registered the following political parties:

1.  African Liberation Party (ALP) 

2.  Action Party of Nigeria (APN)

3.  African Political System (APS)

4.   Better Nigeria Progressive Party (BNPP)

5.  Congress for Democratic Change (CDC)

Why were these parties de-registered? INEC didn't say. See the remaining 23 parties after the cut...
